"Jimmy" W. Warren, 52, of Fernald Street, Gloucester died Saturday,
January 28, 2012 in the Kindred Hospital North Shore Boston in
Peabody following his cancer reoccurrence. Born in Gloucester July
11, 1959 he was the son of Bentley W. Warren of South Daytona Beach,
FL and Bonnie Lee (Jacobs) Warren of Gloucester.
Raised in Gloucester he was a 1977 graduate of Gloucester High
School where he trained as a mechanic. Following graduation he went
to work with his father's racing pit crew later becoming employed by
Bentley Warren Trucking Company as a heavy equipment mechanic.
During these years he joined his father in the profession of auto
racing becoming an award winning racer of the "V6 Supers' and
'Street Stocks." Shortly after his racing career Jimmy opened and
operated Jim Warren's Truck Repair where he continued his mechanic
work throughout his illnesses. Jimmy will be remembered for his
innate skills as a mechanic, race car driver, his sharp witted humor
and as a loyal always helping friend. He will be deeply missed by
his family, colleagues and large cadre' of friends.
In addition to his father and mother he is survived by a daughter
Jennifer N. Warren of Georgetown; a wife Christine J (McKinney)
Warren of Ipswich; two sisters, Sherri A. Galicki and her husband
Michael of Kingston, NH, Lisa A. Warren and her fiance' Marc
Boudreau of Wells, ME as well as many nieces and nephews. A
celebration of his life will be held Saturday, February 11 from 10
am to 1 pm in the John T. Heard Masonic Lodge, 70 Topsfield Road,
Ipswich. Family and friends are cordially welcomed. In lieu of
flowers memorial contributions in his name may be made to the Cape
Ann Animal Aid, 260 Main Street, Gloucester, MA 01930. Arrangements
